My Cats by Ken McDow

My two white cats, Charlie and Lucy, live in my apartment.

We call them Charlie and Lucy because Lucy is a name we all like and Charlie is after a Siamese cat we had. The cats were only four weeks old when we got them. We had told Charlie to say good bye to his sister. He started meowing at Lucy, so we took both. My cats are five years old and will be six on August 8th. They have one green eye and one blue eye and they are twins. They were six months old when we had them spayed and neutered and all their needles. They get their needles every year and the vet says they are very healthy cats.

Charlie likes it when I do my homework on the kitchen table. He comes and gets me so he can lay on the paper and watch me doing my homework. He doesn't like the wind or the rain drops on his head. If we open the oven door or if the fire alarm goes off, Charlie runs to terry's room and hides under the bed for hours.

Lucy likes to lay on the top of the 56 inch TV we have. It is high and she can watch everyone and fall asleep on it. Lucy can stare at you until you get up and follow her so she can show you what she wants: food, etc.

If we bring a new toy for them, Charlie has to check it and play with it for a while before Lucy can have it.

For a special treat, Terry puts cheese on two knives and Bonnie holds one and terry holds the other and the cats lick the cheese off.

The cats are part of my family and I can't imagine being without them. They entertain us in the house all day long.
